What motors can the system control?

Back Up Next

The control hardware outputs a  -10v to +10v dc control signal proportional the commanded motor speed. As a result, any motor/drive combination designed to accept such a signal  is suitable. Specifically, this includes:

bullet

AC 3-phase motors operated by flux-vector, sensorless vector, or volts/hertz inverters,

bullet

DC-PM or shunt-wound motors with 4-quadrant SCR drives, or

bullet

standard servo stepper motor/drive combinations.

In any case, the hardware controller requires position feedback from the motor shaft (or elsewhere in the drive train) in the form of an incremental quadrature encoder.
