What is the supporting technology?

The project's goal is to integrate tools already familiar to theatre production, components include:

	standard personal computers running a Windows NT-based operating system,
	a custom software interface built using the National Instruments LabVIEW development system for automation and instrument control,
	motion control hardware (also from National Instruments) installed in the computer's PCI slot(s), and
	a wiring interface between the computer, motor drives, and position feedback devices. The interface offers electrical isolation and/or signal conditioning between the computer controller and external circuits well as a standard cabling system for connecting to same.
